Aegis to open Manchester call centre

Date: 15/07/2011

Revenue share numbers may be required in Manchester as a new call centre is to open in the city.

Indian outsourcing company Aegis has decided to launch its first European contact outlet in the north-west city and, in doing so, will create 600 jobs.

It is thought a further 3,000 positions will need to be filled when the group opens more sites on the mainland.

Global chief executive at the organisation Aparup Sengupta explained the company's focus is keeping its consumers happy.

He added that "the best way to do that is to have a strong onshore presence, rather than having centres offshore".

According to the BBC, the offices will be in Piccadilly Gardens in the heart of Manchester city centre.

Aegis is not the only enterprise bringing a new call centre to this part of the UK.

New Call Telecom recently revealed it is moving its contact site from Mumbai to Burnley in Lancashire, which will create around 100 vacancies over the course of the year.
