Autoglass headquarters to become Children in Need call centre

Date: 10/11/2011

One call centre could be swapping its 0800 number for some alternative digits as it gets involved with Children in Need later this month.

The Autoglass headquarters are to be the charity's official contact centre for the Bedfordshire region and 100 members of staff will give up their time to take donations.

There will be 50 dedicated phone lines and it is thought up to 5,000 calls could be received on November 18th when Children in Need night is shown on BBC One.

Autoglass also lent its services during Comic Relief earlier this year.

Managing director of the vehicle glass repair service Matthew Mycock said it is "incredibly rewarding to take part in this kind of event as we are so passionate about the fantastic work that Children in Need does".

The firm is not the only enterprise lending its call centre to the appeal this year, as Volkswagen Financial Services in Milton Keynes will also be an official point of contact.
