Bath GP surgeries praised for patient service

Date: 23/12/2011

GP surgeries looking to invest in 0300 numbers in the hope of improving their patient care may want to follow the example of two medical centres.

The Bath Chronicle reports how several local health institutions have been recognised in the GP Practice of the Year awards.

Combe Down Surgery was praised for the way staff work together to provide a good service to staff, with the six doctors and manager all applauded for their kindness to patients.

Elsewhere, great customer care is said to be delivered by Batheaston Medical Centre, which was established in 1950.

The team at the centre was described by the news source as "one big happy family", which is made up of six GPs, one registrar, three healthcare assistants, three practice nurses and as well as an administrative and management team.

Each year, the NHS reveals how medical centres have faired in its voluntary reward and incentive programme the Quality and Outcomes Framework.
