Businesses looking to expand and purchase new 0800 numbers may be interested in the points put forward by one organisation regarding the growth of enterprises in the UK.
The British Chambers of Commerce (BCC) has written to chancellor of the exchequer George Osborne with a five-point initiative to boost development in the private sector.
It stated that ministers must make good on their promise to cut red tape as well as introduce a deregulation plan.
While it would be a good idea for the Bank of England to introduce further quantitative easing measures, the BCC continued, spending must be re-evaluated if the economy does not improve.
The organisation also suggested the introduction of accelerated infrastructure spending and the promotion of greater investment among businesses.
John Longworth, director-general of the BCC, said: "The government needs to be prepared to introduce a package of measures that will strengthen business confidence, allowing them to grow, invest, export and create jobs."
This comes after the Federation of Small Businesses called on the coalition to offer greater support to emerging firms.
