New 0300 numbers may be needed by Bridlington Hospital following reports it is set to undergo refurbishments in 2012.
According to the Bridlington Free Press, the institution will see a variety of developments such as a combined GP Access and Minor Injuries Unit, as well as more medical services and procedures.
Hospital development manager Matthew Groom told the publication there continues to be "a considerable investment in Bridlington".
He explained how work is currently underway to bring two operating theatres back into business, which will pave the way for a wider range of elective surgeries.
Mr Groom said: "The new theatre is being refurbished with the highest specifications of infection control, which is needed for joint replacement surgery."
The Bridlington and District Trust was established in 1992 and provides acute healthcare to 220,000 residents in Scarborough, Ryedale, Whitby and Bridlington.
Bridlington District Hospital is a 98-bed establishment located at the seaside resort.
