Manufacturing businesses may want to purchase non-geographic numbers and establish themselves in Bristol and Glasgow.
This is because, according to a new report from HSBC Commercial Banking, they have turned into 'super cities'.
Entitled The Future of Business 2011, the document explained the UK manufacturing industry is poised to enjoy a revival, with these locations set to help spur the growth.
While Glasgow will become a leader in renewable energy, Bristol is to make its mark in the hi-tech manufacturing sector.
Jacques-Emmanuel Blanchet, head of HSBC Commercial Banking UK, said: "Out of recessions come new trends and this report crystallises how adaptable entrepreneurs and small businesses are, shaping a new business landscape that British business is set to follow."
Non-geographic numbers could be perfect for enterprises looking to take advantage of these developments, as they eliminate the need to change digits when relocating.
Commercial office space in Glasgow and Bristol may be snapped up quickly, as director of commercial research at Savills Mat Oakley recently claimed there has been a growing level of interest in such premises.
