Bristol surgery moves to new home

Date: 19/10/2011

A doctors' surgery in Bristol that may use non-geographic numbers could require call management services to reroute some enquiries.

Kingswood Health Centre has moved to a new, specially built location on Alma Road, Insider Media reports.

The building has replaced its older premises on the same site and the 14-month construction project was made possible thanks to a loan provided by Lloyds TSB Commercial.

Its previous centre was demolished in 2010 after being sold by South Gloucestershire Primary Care Trust.

The new practice is bigger and spans three floors, with spaces including treatment and consultation rooms, a pharmacy which will open later this month and an administration area.

Around 11,000 patients use the surgery and a car park is to be constructed outside.

Last week, the Argus reported that many practices in Sussex are being urged to change their telephone numbers as they still use 084 prefixes, which can mean patients end up paying more to get in touch.
