Call centre takes on additional staff

Date: 17/08/2011

Some new revenue share numbers may be required at one call centre in Derry that is taking on new staff members.

Mortgage administration enterprise HML let 40 employees go earlier this year, the Derry Journal reports.

However, it is now recruiting five additional workers, director of marketing at the firm Julian Wells confirmed.

"The main purpose of the contact centre consultant role is to work within voice operations to ensure that telephone calls and administrative post are processed within company service standards," the job description reads.

Earlier this month, the Reading Chronicle reported that the local Royal Berkshire Hospital has extended its contact centre's opening times.

This was due to a computer problem that meant its patients were unable to book appointments online, leading to a backlog of enquiries.

The call centre opened an hour earlier than normal during the week ended August 12th in a bid to deal with the greater number of people the health facility expected to get in touch.
