Although the internet is ideal for making a purchase or carrying out transactions, she noted it is not as effective as speaking to someone on the phone when something goes wrong.
As a result, Ms Hathway claimed these centres will continually be in demand, especially in financial services sectors.
"I think there will always be a place for call centres because there will always be those more complex enquiries that machines just won't be able to solve on their own," she noted.
Companies establishing call centres may wish to consider purchasing 0844 numbers, as they will enable them to earn money every time an individual gets in touch.
