Choosing memorable 0800 telephone numbers may prove to be a shrewd move for businesses, particularly if their target market is women.

This is because, as Tessa Cunningham explained in a recent article for the Daily Mail, an increasing proportion of the female population are struggling to recall simple information.

Earlier this year, a study conducted by Hokkaido University in Japan found that a third of women under the age of 30 cannot remember their own phone number.

This may just go to show why easy-to-recall 0800 numbers may be especially useful to enterprises that target this demographic.

As if to confirm the data, Ms Cunningham revealed how she can no longer "reel off telephone numbers, walk around the supermarket without a list and remember names of films and books".

There are various different 0800 number combinations available to enterprises, all of which have a national presence and are considered to be memorable collections of digits.
