GP surgeries set to merge in Leighton

Date: 27/01/2012

New 0300 numbers may be needed following the announcement that two GP practices are to merge.

The Leighton Buzzard Observer reports the Lake House Surgery and Europa House are planning to join together and relocate to bigger premises on the outskirts of Leighton.

Around 6,500 residents will be affected by the move, with patient lists expected to increase as new housing developments in the area are due to be created.

By relocating and merging the two practices, it is thought the services will be better able to meet increased patient demand.

The more modern premises will be located on Grovebury Road, with the move expected to take place in April.

Those who wish to discuss the potential repercussions of the plans have been invited to attend drop-in sessions at Leighton Buzzard Library on February 7th between 10:00 GMT and midday.

Lake House Surgery currently operates from 08:00 GMT to 18:00 GMT from Monday to Friday.
