New 0300 numbers may be required at a health centre that is to be constructed in Buckshaw Village.
NHS bosses have approved proposals to build a permanent structure that will house a GP surgery, dental practice and other health and social services, the Lancashire Evening Post reports.
Work will begin on the centre in the next few weeks and the completed building will cater for up to 10,000 patients.
Dr Nimal Muttucumaru, who will move over from The Lodge in Buckshaw Retirement Village to the new surgery, commented there is "strong demand" for such an establishment in the area.
He claimed a large number of patients had already registered with the practice and described the approval of the plans as "fantastic news".
Dr Muttucumaru added: "We look forward to working closely with healthcare professionals and the local community to further develop our services."
The news comes after the Milford and West Wales Mercury reported that building work has begun on the £3 million Milford Haven Medical Centre.
