Individuals establishing their own business and purchasing non-geographic numbers may agree that greater support is needed for start-ups.
Deborah Meaden, Dragons' Den investor and successful entrepreneur, explained that although help is available, is it is not always easy for organisations to access.
Furthermore, some entrepreneurs may not be aware of the support they can take advantage of.
"If there is help out there and people don't know about it, then that is an awful thing," she stated.
Ms Meaden welcomed the introduction of the Local Business Accelerator Scheme, stating it could generate greater funds for local communities by supporting companies with good ideas that will create jobs.
"It will bring focus on those businesses so I think it is an all-round good thing," she added.
The expert had previously explained that the new initiative also offers firms targeted advertising campaigns, which are worth up to £10,000 and featured in local newspapers.
