Lawrence Dallaglio helps launch new contact centre

Date: 21/07/2011

Lawrence Dallaglio has helped launch a new contact centre, which may require the use of non-geographic phone numbers.

The former England rugby captain was in Bognor Regis as The Listening Company started its seven-year contract to run the site for West Sussex County Council, the Bognor Regis Observer reports.

Managing director at the company Neville Upton said the staff are "passionate about what they do".

"We are very excited about taking over the contract," he added.

County council leader Louise Goldsmith described the employees as the "face of the council".

Up to 800,000 calls are received by the seven-year-old centre on Durban Road and workers also distribute 24,000 pieces of literature.

This is not the only change that has been made to UK call centres of late, as HEROtsc recently announced it is to take on an additional 100 members of staff at its Rowallan Park site in Kilmarnock, the BBC reported.
