London 'has a wide variety of office space'

Date: 04/01/2012

Companies planning to relocate their central hub to London and invest in non-geographical numbers may be interested in one expert's tips on offices in the capital.

Iain Smith, spokesman for the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry, explained how the city has "a wide variety" of commercial space to offer businesses.

He noted the cheaper offices are located in areas of south London, such as Enfield and Croydon, while the "powerhouse" regions are located around Westminster.

The City of London and Canary Wharf were highlighted as "financial centres", with the east end of the capital said to be "up-and-coming".

For example, Mr Smith explained how the Olympic site and surrounding areas are likely to see large amounts of public investment, while the Northern Line tube extension was described as likely to create new office hubs.

According to the expert, there are "immediate benefits" associated with being based in London including the location being positioned on a time zone that allows firms to trade with the east and west.
