New 020 numbers may be required by Lonely Planet as it is partially relocating its operations to London.
The travel publisher is based in Melbourne, Australia, but has decided to open offices in England to ensure proximity to its parent company the BBC.
A currently high Australian dollar was also cited as one of the reasons for the move.
Although Lonely Planet's headquarters will remain in Australia, up to 70 members of staff will be made redundant down under and internationally.
However, these losses will be offset by the creation of 30 new jobs in London.
"We will be recruiting around 30 roles, all working on our digital operation, between now and the end of the year. Roles will be posted on Lonely Planet's website," the Bookseller reports a spokesman for the organisation as saying.
This is not the only major international firm to be establishing itself in London at present, as Twitter has also announced it will be opening a new office in the capital.
