Marketing 'needs to be targeted to audiences'

Companies looking to attract customers to call their 0800 phone numbers and place purchase requests may want to consider their marketing techniques.

Stefan Drew, the Marketing Magician at stefandrew.com, explained how the most effective way to boost a client base is to ensure individuals are being targeted appropriately.

"The first question you have got to ask yourself is where are my audience?" he stated, adding: "It is about choosing the right channels for your marketing."

For example, Mr Drew commented that advertising on Facebook is a good way to reach young people, but not as useful if the aim is to connect with pensioners.

Firms hoping to entice other businesses were encouraged to use LinkedIn, while magazines dedicated to certain hobbies and pastimes were another recommendation.
