Memorable phone numbers 'essential for business success'

Date: 10/06/2011

Memorable non-geographic numbers are an essential purchase if businesses wish to succeed, the comments of one expert suggest.

Speaking to Five Towns Patch, owner of Michigan-based firm Ring Ring Aaron Beals explained the importance of simple digit combinations.

He said many enterprises think that, because they have used the same phone number for several decades, it is "working just fine".

However, this may not be the case and Mr Beals told Long Island Business News that so-called "vanity" numbers mean people are more likely to get in touch with a brand and "respond favourably to whatever product is being sold".

Enterprises that target many of their services towards women could find memorable phones numbers to be especially useful.

Earlier this year, Tessa Cunningham explained in an article for the Daily Mail that an increasing number of females in the UK are struggling to remember simple facts and information.

Furthermore, a study conducted by Hokkaido University in Japan discovered a third of women under the age of 30 cannot recall their own phone number.
