More firms 'opening offices in Manchester'

New 0800 numbers could be a useful purchase for the many companies choosing to establish themselves in Manchester.

Simon Jones, research project manager at officebroker.com, said there has been an increase in the number of firms acquiring properties in the city.

Between the first quarter of 2010 and the same time in 2011, his company has seen a 200 per cent rise in enterprises committing to office space.

Mr Jones described this as a "positive sign".

He added that "there's also quite a high level of supply there as well so it obviously makes it very competitive".

New 0800 numbers may help those relocating to the north-west city, as they provide a national presence, meaning companies do not have to worry about changing their contact details and informing clients.

And it is not just city centre locations businesses are choosing, as the Manchester Evening News recently reported that many firms are looking to premises in the suburbs.
