Companies looking to purchase new non-geographic numbers and expand their operations could take advantage of a new government initiative.
Prime minister David Cameron has announced measures to support small to medium-enterprises (SMEs) and help them export to new markets.
This move has been welcomed by the British Insurance Brokers' Association (Biba), as it will increase awareness of the sector and promote better understanding.
The National Export Challenge is supported by a resource called Open to Export, which will offer advice on the matter.
Steve Foulsham, technical services manger at Biba, said: "We welcome today's move and will continue to work with our Trade Credit Focus Group to raise the profile and importance of this specialist sector in exporting."
The British Chambers of Commerce believes lending must be improved to SMEs and other types of enterprise, as it recently claimed the quantitative easing measures extended by the Monetary Policy Committee will not have the desired effect unless firms receive greater monetary support.
