Individuals in Hertfordshire will be able to make free calls to a helpline thanks to a new 0300 number.
HertsHelp has been launched by Hertfordshire County Council and NHS Hertfordshire, the Borehamwood Times reports.
The initiative aims to assist people with a wide range of queries, as several organisations have been brought together under the number.
Callers will be pointed towards the body or group best suited to their needs, with phone lines staffed between 09:00 GMT and 17:00 GMT on weekdays.
The helpline has been introduced in response to the government's call for more accessible information and support services.
It is hoped HertsHelp will ensure everyone in the county will have their enquiries addressed, as people will different skills and expertise are set to be at the end of the line.
Issues the call centre staff will be able to dispense advice on include staying healthy, keeping active, money worries, community groups, feeling safe in the home, as well as relationships and families.
