A new 0300 number has today (September 28th) been introduced by a healthcare provider in Surrey.
The collection of digits should be utilised by those wishing to contact Thamesdoc's out-of-hours GP service in Elmbridge and the surrounding areas, Elmbridge Today reports.
Individuals will be charged local rates to call the number, no matter whether they use their landline or mobile phone.
In addition, more incoming lines will be introduced at the organisation's central control centre.
The service is available at weekends and bank holidays, as well as between the hours of 18:30 and 08:00 during the week.
Managing director of Thamesdoc Stephen Price said the alteration came about following an investment in new IT and telephony.
It is part of the firm's "ongoing plans to improve the patient experience when using our services", he added.
The Evening Chronicle recently reported on an out-of-hours service called Northern Doctors Urgent Care that is helping people in Northumberland, Newcastle and North and South Tyneside.
