Businesses looking to expand their operations in the south by purchasing additional revenue share numbers may be interested in a new site planned for Torbay.
Steve Parrock, chief executive of Torbay Development Agency, told the Herald Express that his organisation is hoping to construct new premises at White Rock in Paignton.
Although the scheme does not yet have planning permission, he suggested it would be ideal for companies that require space for a contact centre.
"A small call centre might require 20,000 to 30,000 square feet, but a large call centre could require 120,000 square feet, roughly the size of Sainsbury's at the Willows," Mr Parrock stated.
However, he admitted nearby locations such as Bristol and Swindon already have premises measuring thousands of square feet ready for occupancy, which presents competition for Torbay.
One enterprise extending its call centre operations is Santander, as it is creating 100 extra jobs at its commercial banking headquarters in Bootle, the Liverpool Echo recently reported.
