New call centre to be opened by npower

Date: 11/07/2011

New revenue share numbers may be required by npower, as it is taking on new call centre recruits.

The energy supplier has created 100 new jobs across three sites in the north-west, the Peterlee Mail reports.

Both full-time and part-time employees are required for a number of roles including sales staff and team managers.

The positions are based at the company's head office and its customer contact centres in Thornaby and Houghton-le-Spring.

Head of npower's call centres Paul Robinson said: "These jobs are all about helping people and helping us deliver excellent service to npower's customers."

He added that good customer service is "essential", which may encourage other companies to purchase new phone numbers and expand their contact centres.

These are not the only jobs of this kind to be on offer in the region, as the Evening Chronicle recently reported that BSkyB is to open a new call centre in the centre of Newcastle.
