Local rate numbers may be needed following the opening of a new multi-million pound community centre in West Faversham.
The first stage of building work has been completed, with the second phase set to begin soon, the Kentish Gazette reports.
So far, the hall, bar area, offices, kitchen and upstairs rooms have been finished and the new centre is on course for completion by January 21st 2012.
It is said to provide facilities for the disabled, accommodation for pre-school children and a youth club, along with sporting, cultural and educational activities for all ages.
Centre manager Simon Bannister said: "We are looking forward to welcoming people from Faversham and the surrounding villages to our spectacular new centre."
The project has been three and a half years in the making and the demolition of the existing Bysing Wood Road centre is the next stage towards completion.
Among the community hall's features is a large room that can house tiered seating for up to 260 people, banquet table and chairs for 180 individuals.
