New 03 phone numbers may be required in Gloucestershire as plans to build a medical centre have been put forward.
Development company Walbeck has already submitted a proposal to construct 550 homes near the village of Bishop's Cleeve, the Gloucestershire Echo reports.
Now, it also wants to erect a new medical centre consisting of ten consulting rooms, practice nurse rooms and minor operating facilities.
The new centre would take on doctors and patients from existing practices in Bishop's Cleeve and Seven Posts in Prestbury.
There could also be additional space for visiting consultants, chiropodists, physiotherapists and outreach teams at the surgery.
Bishop's Cleeve Parish Council chairman Peter Lightfoot said: "We recognise that doctors' surgeries in Bishop's Cleeve are under pressure and anything to improve the range and quantity of services offered must be of benefit."
New 0300 numbers could be perfect for the practice if construction work goes ahead, as they are reserved especially for enterprises operating in public and charity sectors.
