North-east call centre takes on new staff

A contact centre in the north-east may require new non-geographic phone numbers as it is taking on more members of staff.

Respondez, which is based in Hartlepool, is now offering positions to 15 additional agency employees, meaning it will soon have a team of more than 200 individuals, Call Centre Helper reports.

The change has been made after the company secured a successful number of pitches that have led to additional custom.

Sales and marketing director at the enterprise Sue Marshall explained demand has been strong in recent times, despite the economic downturn.

"Over the last year and a half, there has been some fantastic progress in terms of business and staff and we anticipate a steady growth and a solid performance in the future," she added.

On the other side of the country, the AA recently announced it has acquired premises in Fulwood Park off Pittman Way, Preston and will be providing new employment opportunities as a result, the Lancashire Evening Post reported.
