Office fittings 'starting on lower floors of the Shard'

Date: 31/05/2011

Enterprises looking to purchase 0207 numbers and acquire prime London property may have their sights set on the Shard.

Although it is not yet finished, it is already the UK's tallest building and is set for completion in 2012, building.co.uk reports.

Flan McNamara, project director at the scheme's developer Sellar, explained that offices are already starting to be fitted out on the lower floors.

Furthermore, the company removed anchor tenant Transport for London from the building because it believes it will be able to obtain more rent from new enterprises when the scheme is finished.

"The project below level 31 is largely complete," Mr McNamara continued.

Services for the building are to be commissioned soon and 60 per cent of the cladding has been added, the news provider stated, despite the start date being delayed by four months.

Office spaces in the Shard will range in size and, according to the official website, will provide "an unrivalled level of quality and the best views in London".
