Olympics 'likely to boost office demand in East End'

Date: 16/12/2011

London telephone numbers may help firms moving to offices around the Olympic Park to establish themselves ahead of next year's Games.

Richard Kauntze, chief executive of the British Council for Offices, described how the 2012 sports event in the capital will probably lead to expansion in the East End.

"I think there will be some office legacy round about the Olympic Park, but it is likely to be limited," he stated.

It was suggested rental prices will rise in the area as companies look to be located near to the main event.

However, Mr Kauntze claimed firms are more likely to be drawn to offices in the Olympic Park region once it has been announced what will become of the stadium and surrounding buildings following the completion of the Games.

The London 2012 Olympic Games will be held from July 27th until August 12th across various venues in the UK.
