Phone numbers essential for firms, says businessman

Enterprises may wish to ensure they have a memorable 0800 number for customers to call when they hear the comments of one business owner.

Speaking to WMUR New Hampshire, Paul Hartnett explained how important a suitable contact number is for his enterprise, Axis Coach.

He said many people, especially his repeat customers, know the number off by heart.

Furthermore, it is printed on the company's business cards, literature and advertising boards in the area.

Mr Hartnett was discussing the news that officials in New Hampshire in the US are planning to reclaim hundreds of thousands of numbers.

"You know, for us to do that is really going to impact our business and cost us a lot of money," he added.

Mr Hartnett is not the only person who realises the importance of having a recognisable prefix.

Owner of Michigan-based firm Ring Ring Aaron Beals told Long Island Business News last month that good phone numbers can encourage people to get in touch with a brand and boost business.
