Plusnet has announced that is introducing 0800 numbers at its call centres, something it believes will be of benefit to consumers.
The telecoms company previously used 0845 numbers for its customer service lines.
However, it has now decided to make the change and is promoting this with a new advert to be premiered on TV tonight (August 1st) during Emmerdale.
It means that individuals calling from a landline can contact Plusnet for free instead of paying for the call.
The advertising campaign will feature the brand's character Joe and his dog Samson - who have appeared in previous commercials - as well as Joe's dad.
Plusnet previously had some customer support workers located in Durban, South Africa, however it made the decision in November last year to have all contact services based at its headquarters in Sheffield.
The company's support network has previously won awards for its quality and is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
