Businesses with 0800 numbers preparing themselves for an influx of enquiries this winter may wish to take part in a webinar on the subject.
Premier Business Audio points out that according to a study by Eptica, contact centres usually receive more calls in the run-up to Christmas, with consumers often getting in touch with the same question.
Therefore, the company is running a webinar on November 29th at 10:00 GMT offering advice on the matter.
It points out that if businesses cannot handle this many enquiries, they may lose customers as people get increasingly frustrated.
The webinar aims to address this issue and includes comments from contact centre sales director at Premier Kevin O'Connor, as well as customer operations manager for Parcelforce Patrick Morgan.
British Gas has decided to up its staff levels at its call centre in Stockport in anticipation of a busy winter, as last year it received 67,000 calls over the Christmas week, the Manchester Evening News reported.
