Southern Water opens Brighton call centre

Date: 23/11/2011

New revenue share numbers may be required by Southern Water, as it has opened a new call centre in Brighton.

There will be 80 people working at the site, which has been created in response to the national private sewage transfer (PST), Call Centre Helper reports.

Southern Water believes it will experience an increase in enquiries following the introduction of PST legislation last month.

The facilities were installed by TSK and the building has an open-plan working space as well as private meeting rooms.

One of TSK's directors Andy Burke said Southern Water employees will be "providing specialist advice to homeowners facing very particular problems so it's important that their call centre is an environment which supports their needs".

He added the site will support them and encourage excellent customer service.

The utilities supplier is not the only firm expanding its call centre operations, as Santander is taking on 100 additional members of staff at its site in Bootle, the Liverpool Echo reported.
