Sustainability of buildings 'important for firms'

Date: 28/09/2011

Sustainability could be an increasingly important issue for enterprises purchasing new 020 numbers and relocating to premises in London.

Darren Yates, partner in the commercial research team at Knight Frank, explained the eco-friendliness of buildings is becoming something many companies now think about when choosing their offices.

This is because they are concerned about the environment, he stated, while there is also a "cost issue" to consider.

Mr Yates pointed out that contractors must comply with legislation meaning they have to put environmentally-friendly practices and measures into action.

Furthermore, "consumers want the companies that they are buying from to behave in a more environmentally-friendly way as well", the expert concluded.

Plenty of enterprises may be looking to purchase local numbers and establish themselves in London, as chief executive of the British Council for Offices Richard Kauntze recently described it as the "ideal" location to do business.

This is due to its good transport links and diverse pool of talent, he claimed.
