Companies looking to purchase new 0800 telephone numbers may be interested to hear the results of new research from Ofcom.
The industry regulator has conducted its latest investigation into the most complained-about telecoms providers in the UK between April and June.
When it came to landline services, TalkTalk Group was found to have received the most calls from unhappy customers.
However, the organisation's performance has improved, as the number of complaints made about it has declined since the final quarter of 2010.
Virgin Media was discovered to be the least complained-about provider, while there was virtually no difference in the number of customers angered by BSkyB and BT Retail.
The results were similar for broadband provision, with TalkTalk Group and Virgin Media once again coming bottom and top respectively.
Last month, TalkTalk and Tiscali were fined £3 million by Ofcom for incorrectly billing thousands of customers and charging them for services they had not used.
