Installing a VoIP phone system can have a number of advantages for businesses looking to modernise their communications equipment, one IT firm has suggested.
In an article for the Cambridge Network, Sapien IT Services noted VoIP phones are easy to install as they simply plug in to an existing broadband connection, which could make them perfect for businesses that are constantly expanding and moving to new offices.
The firm also explained VoIP can minimise the risk of a call being missed, as the system can be configured to divert the incoming communication to some or all handsets in the office, as well as to mobiles.
It may also be perfect for businesses that have both office and home-based employees, as personnel can access the VoIP network from any location, providing they have a compatible handset.
The chief executive of phone equipment provider Du Pont Telecom Graeme Victor recently told My Broadband that a growing number of firms are adopting VoIP technology.
He urged companies to do thorough research to ensure they pick a provider that suits their needs.
