Work begins on new Milford GP surgery

Date: 19/12/2011

New 0300 numbers may be needed following the unveiling of a new GP surgery, on which work has begun.

The Milford and West Wales Mercury reported how builders have begun constructing the new £3 million Milford Haven Medical Centre on Fulke Street.

Local mayor and councillor David Friend said: "It is excellent news and long overdue. We are now getting the surgery that the people of this town deserve."

The current Barlow House and Robert Street GP surgeries will relocate to the healthcare centre, as part of a project delivered in conjunction with Hywel Dda Health Board and LSP Developments.

District nurses, health visitors and midwives will be based at the site, while there is set to also be an integrated pharmacy.

Elsewhere, the Warrington Guardian recently reported how local residents have been campaigning to see Holes Lane Surgery and Manchester Road Surgery switch back to free local phone numbers.
