Why Are The Changes Being made to 0870 Numbers?

The changes are that 0870 calls will be aligned to the cost of a geographic national rate call. Also revenue share will stop on all 0870 numbers from the 1st August 2009. 0870 numbers will now carry a call delivery charge, meaning that many businesses call strategies will change from the profit centres to cost centres.

Your sevice will not be affected. However, your call charges and phone bill will change, due to fact that you will have to pay whenever someone calls your business.

BT Retail is currently charging a minium of 3.5p per minute for each call received on a 0870 number. The bad press assoicated with these numbers will also make your customers and prospects far less likely to dial a 0870 number.
