The Latest Telecoms News From Commsready

Telecoms expert Commsready is promoting the use of 0844 numbers by UK businesses to earn revenues whilst receiving calls.

Companies which purchase and advertise numbers beginning 0844 - known as 'revenue sharing' numbers - will earn money for each incoming call that they receive on that number, advises Commsready.

Revenue share numbers help businesses to offset the cost of providing services to incoming callers by giving the host company a share of the call charges. 0844 numbers create profit for companies and can be linked to existing phone numbers to avoid disruption.

Businesses hit hard by bad weather keeping staff and customers away should implement a phone-based business continuity plan, advises Commsready.

Many companies are losing business as snow and cold weather continue to affect the UK, warns Commsready.

But with a business continuity plan in place for their telephony, they could keep their businesses working.

It's not too late to put business continuity communications in place to help safeguard your company against the impact of swine flu, warn telecoms experts at Commsready.

With tens of millions of calls to the UK Pandemic Flu hotline, many bosses wrongly fear it is now too late for contingency planning.

But Commsready's latest inbound telephony solutions are web-based - so firms do not have to spend huge amounts of time and money on business continuity telecoms.

Many companies are jeopardising their future because they have few or no telecoms disaster recovery measures in place, warns Commsready.

They also risk losing business because many major retailers and other big corporates refuse to deal with companies that cannot guarantee business continuity. Previously it was too expensive for many small firms to invest in offsite facilities to ensure business continuity. They could not afford all the extra computers needed.

But now the latest inbound telephony solutions from Commsready mean companies no longer have to install heavy-duty hardware and equipment to create a disaster recovery facility.

Companies which face losing money under new changes to 0870 phone numbers should urgently migrate to other codes, warns telephone numbers supplier Commsready.
Firms currently making money from 0870 numbers look set to lose out as their 'revenue share' is replaced by call delivery charges under new rules unveiled by telecoms regulator Ofcom.
The new rules will take effect on August 1 following an Ofcom review prompted by concerns at the high cost of dialling some 0870 numbers.
Companies with 0871 and 0872 phone numbers have just months left to comply with new consumer protection rules taking effect this summer, warns telephone numbers supplier Commsready. From August 1 2009, the premium-rate regulator PhonepayPlus will regulate 0871 and 0872 numbers that are typically charged above 5p per minute and up to 10p per minute (for BT customers).
